Researchers hanover barrel chair at the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Network (ESCAPE-NET) have announced that they will discover distinct approaches to stopping and treating sudden cardiac arrest for men and females.

Dr Hanno Tan, ESCAPE-NET project leader and cardiologist, Academic Medical Centre, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, mentioned: “Doctors want to know when these drugs can be safely prescribed in females.
“We feel that sudden cardiac arrest is triggered by the interaction of many danger factors. Our research will uncover which components are relevant in girls and men and use this information to create a danger score.”
One particular of the aims of ESCAPE-NET is to generate a threat score that incorporates sex, age, genetic profile and comorbidities. Doctors will be in a position to use the score to identify the danger, for instance, of prescribing erythromycin for a female patient.
ESCAPE-NET will determine certain factors for differences in survival involving guys and ladies and which components might be changed.
